The presentation and organization of this book made it easy and enjoyable to engage with.

I appreciated that the stories were presented chronologically rather than by theme or topic, it helped me better understand the historical context and draw my own conclusions about how language and culture evolved over the century.

The author’s blurbs at the beginning of each story were concise and informative. My only regret is that the selected stories didn’t always feel representative of their respective authors’ overall work. If this was intentional, so be it, but the choices did seem a bit fringe.

My limited Italian means I can’t speak to the quality of the translation, but since this was a gift from an Italian, I’m assuming it checks that box!
